Me and Fatimah go on our food hunt to try some of the best foods we could find we were intrigued by an episode of "The Best Thing I Ever Ate" on Food Network where Giada De Laurentiis told the world about this amazing burger place. What was it called? Umami Burger! We had to try it after watching this.
So to break our fast the other day we decided to find where this place was and see what they had.
The first thing we had to order was obviously the Umami Burger. It looked amazing. It had a tomato based sauce on top of a shitake mushroom with a parm crisp on top of their perfectly cooked burger. It was pretty good. The meat was cooked to perfection. It was amazing. If you are wondering where the term Umami came from... it is apparently a term used in Japan that describes the fifth taste (others are salty, sweet, sour, and bitter). After some "googling" a found something that described the sensation as "savoriness". It is basically the main flavoring in MSG. To us it tasted like a pasta burger. It was good but we were blown away by a better burger in our opinions.
These pics look amazing... so appetizing im hungry all over again.
Well now to the burger that was THE BEST burger I have ever had in my life... The Truffle Burger. Now I have tried a few burgers in my life, including the burgers over at 26 Beach which were great in their own rights. They had the best burger in LA, which we also tried. It was good except for the Wasabi aoli... I am not really a fan of horsradish typed spices so that may be it. But back to the Truffle Burger. It was also cooked perfectly with garlic aoli, truffle cheese, and it was simple and perfect. I had to order two of them on top of what we ate. It was amazing. The meat was so tender and juicy and the combination with all of the condiments and toppings just blended perfectly. If you read this go out and try it!
We also had the onion rings and the three times fried french fries. They were good but the burgers were the reason we came here.
If you guys want to give them a shot (and you really should) you can visit the one we went to on... 850 South La Brea Avenue Los Angeles, CA 90036
Anyways thats all for now and hopefully more consistent posts to come!
SEACREST OUT!!!
